Theme 1: Quality and water pollution control

The depollution of wastewater has become an imperative with the human activities which inevitably come with a growing production of polluting discharges.

Sanitation of wastewater helps to maintain health and is a good ally for protecting the environment. Since the previous decades, Morocco has experienced an influx of people to cities. Today, 60.3% of Moroccans (RGPH 2014) live in cities. Most of the industrial and domestic pollution is concentrated in urban sewers.

Many factors alter the nature of surface water and groundwater, mainly (organic matter, suspended solids, heavy metals, pesticides, etc.), which makes it difficult to treat them.

The elimination of these various undesirable elements requires the use of a number of techniques. Coagulation-flocculation and electrocoagulation-flotation, adsorption, oxidation processes, and many other processes can respond to many situations.

The present conference (CIDEEV2019) will provide the opportunity to take stock of these key concerns by presenting all the technical advances in the field of depollution.
