Theme 2: Water Desalination

The seawater desalination today occupies about 60% of the world market by the distillation which is the oldest and most rustic desalination techniques that are improved by the multiple effects processes to recover some of the energy released during condensation. Reverse osmosis is also an effective industrial process of desalinization with a pressure of 50 to 80 bar exceeding the osmotic pressure of seawater being (30 bar). To follow the development known in Morocco where new solar desalination plants in Morocco will be operational soon, the CIDEEV will go over the research works on the subject.
